One size fits all is a favoured marketing approach, but it is not appropriate to teaching where teachers address the learning strengths and weaknesses of individual students.
The teacher treads the precarious line of finding common ground while addressing extension and remedial students as required.
STRATEGIES
Judicial use of IT can provide the opportunity to offer monitored self paced learning and deliver valuable progress statistics to aid assessment .
However, caution is advised, in that access to information does not naturally result in acquisition of knowledge.
Access to IT does allow for creative approaches to demonstrating knowledge through the production of webpages, flyers, essays, presentations and the like.
